CQU’s I&E team wins “Deng Xiaoping’s Scientific and Technological Innovation Team”

In memory of the 114th anniversary of Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s birth, the 11th China Youth Scientific and Technological Innovation Award Ceremony has been held in the Great Hall of the People the other day. Sun Chunlan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice premier of the State Council, has attended and addressed the Ceremony. The “Futemao” innovation & entrepreneurship team of Chongqing University has won the top honor for youth scientific and technological innovation of China, “Deng Xiaoping’s Scientific and Technological Innovation Team”. Only 50 student innovation teams have won this title throughout China.

 “Futemao” I&E team of Chongqing University was established by Yang Jiannan, a student of the School of Economics and Business Administration. This team has set up an energy cloud platform called Futemao to help enterprises track the hourly, daily, monthly and yearly power consumption data, including the power consumption, voltage, current, active power, reactive power, power demand and power factor. Those data will then be used to generate a typical load curve to predict the power consumption in the future. By now the team has incorporated Chongqing Futemao Technology Co., Ltd., which has an estimated value of more than 100 million yuan. The founder Yang Jiannan has been included in the list of “30 elites below 30” in China of 2018 by Forbes.

It is reported that China Youth Scientific and Technological Innovation Award has been established the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, China Youth Federation, All-China Students’ Federation and the National Working Committee of the Young Pioneers of China as entrusted by Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s relatives according to his last wish, with all royalty from papers and books written by him before his death. Since 2014, 3 rounds of selection have been held among college students throughout China and a total of 200 scientific and technological innovation teams of college students with outstanding performance in academic research, scientific and technological competitions and achievements dissemination have been selected and granted the title “Deng Xiaoping’s Scientific and Technological Innovation Team”.
