IEEE AP/MTT Joint Societies Chongqing Chapter approved to be established

The IEEE AP/MTT Joint Societies Chongqing Chapter led by Tang Mingchun, a professor of the College of Communication Engineering, Chongqing University under the Hundred-talent Program, has recently been approved to be established by the Headquarters of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), an international academic institution. IEEE is an international association of electronic technique and information science engineers, and is the largest professional technology association in the world, with 380,000 members from 175 countries. At present, IEEE has a total of 37 societies and 3 councils, covering a variety of areas including communication, electronics and microwave. There are more than 380 chapters under the societies.

The IEEE AP/MTT Joint Societies Chongqing Chapter has been approved to be established by the Headquarters of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Professor Tang Mingchun has been appointed as the first chairman. The Chapter was jointly initiated by 12 experts, including those from Chongqing Sound and Light Co., Ltd., China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, Professor Tang and other persons from Chongqing University and Senior Engineer Li Guoqing and other persons from West Branch, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (Chongqing Information Communication Research Institute). There are currently more than 30 members of the Chapter. It is the second IEEE chapter after IEEE CIS Society Chongqing Chapter. Establishment of this organization provides a platform for communication of professionals in the microwave radio frequency and circuit areas, and will facilitate international academic exchange and cooperation, as well as construction and development of the technical areas of wireless transmission and microwave theory. Students and teachers are encouraged to join the Chapter and have academic exchange and discussion to achieve joint growth in the professional areas.
