CQU Postgraduates Gain Gratifying Achievements in 12th China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition

The National Final of “Huawei Cup” 12th China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition is being held from August 19 to 22, 2017 in Huizhou, Guangdong. After the preliminaries held in 8 competition areas across China, 7 outstanding teams from Chongqing University have been chosen finalists. After fierce competition, the participating teams of CQU respectively win 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes. Mr. He Wei of the School of Communication Engineering of CQU wins the Outstanding Guiding Teacher Award. In addition, given its excellent organizing ability and outstanding achievements in the Competition, Chongqing University wins its 4th “Outstanding Organization Award” within the 4 past consecutive years.


Since its kick-off in March 2017, 2,055 teams from 329 organizations have participated in the Competition in 8 competition areas nationwide. In the preliminary held in Southwestern Competition Area, CQU has organized for 32 outstanding teams to participate, and those teams have won five first prizes for groups, 13 second prizes for groups and 9 third prizes for groups. A total of 7 teams from CQU have been chosen as finalists, and in the technological competition, those teams have won 1 first prize, and 1 second prize. In the business plan, enterprise proposition and integrated circuit competitions, those teams have won 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes. In particular, the “smart trash can” completed by Gong Xuefei, Ren Hao and Xu Qing under the lead of He Wei and Lin Yingcheng from the School of Communication Engineering is highly spoken by the review experts and has won the national first prize. Furthermore, He Wei has won the Outstanding Guiding Teacher Award and Chongqing University has won the “Outstanding Organization Award”.


China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition is a disciplinary competition for postgraduates co-held by the Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, Chinese Institute of Electronics and the National Guiding Committee on Education of Postgraduate with Degree in Engineering. It is one of the major competitions among the “China Postgraduate Innovation Practice Series Competitions” held by the Center. The China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition is a group-oriented electronic design and creation practice event targeted at the postgraduates, and its mission is to drive the reform and innovation of cultivation mode for postgraduates in information and electronics in colleges, universities and scientific research institutions, develop practical innovation ideas and basic capacities and team-oriented humanistic spirit and the theory concatenating practice learning style in postgraduates, enhance cultivation of postgraduates’ engineering practice competence and providing a platform for excellent talents to stand out. The Competition was initiated by Tsinghua University in 1996 and a total of 12 sessions have been held successfully, attended by thousands of teachers and students from more than 300 colleges and universities across China. It functions as an effective platform for postgraduates in electronics related disciplines to enhance teamwork spirit, identify the gap and improve their practical capacity.
