11th Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Meeting Held

The 11th Industry-Academy-Research Cooperation Innovation Meeting opens in Jinan on November 12, 2017. The Meeting is co-organized by the People’s Government of Shandong Province and China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association (CIUR). Academician Lu Yongxiang, chairman of CIUR and former vice chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Wan Gang, chairman of China Association for Science and Technology, minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and vice chairman of the 12th  Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attend the meeting and deliver a speech. The working report of CIUR is delivered at the Meeting, and advanced collectives and individuals in terms of industry-university-research collaboration innovation of 2017 were commended. The Annual Meeting of CIUR is held during the same period. The Meeting is presided over by Chen Xiaoya, deputy director of Committee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports, CPPCC, and standing vice-chairman of CIUR.

The Meeting is themed “government-industry-university-research collaboration innovation, leading conversion of old and new energies of motion” and is aimed to implement the innovation-driven-development strategy, deepen industry-university-research collaboration, and expedite building of the technical innovation system integrating industry, universities and research, with enterprises as the subject and market as the guide.

 

The Meeting has several sessions, including “Summit Forum on Promoting Transformation Development by Conversion of Old and New Energies of Motion”, “Summit Forum on Promoting ‘the Belt and Road’ Construction by Industry-University-Research Collaboration”, “Summit Forum on Innovation Design, Intelligent Manufacturing and Military and Civilian Integration”, “Summit Forum on University-Industry Collaboration Innovation and Match-making Fair”, and “Summit Forum on Massive Health and Brand Culture Building”, with reports delivered and communications held. At the Meeting, the universities, enterprises, financial institutions and alliances have signed strategic cooperation agreements to promote close integration between application and industry-university-research.

 

At the Meeting, the innovation award, promotion award, innovation achievement award, military and civilian integration award, craftsmanship spirit award and outstanding contribution award are granted to the advanced collective and individual winners. A total of 48 first prizes, 60 second prizes and 65 outstanding prizes for industry-university-research cooperation innovation achievements of 2017 have been granted.

The “key technology of high-performance heavy-duty gear assembly and its application” led by Wei Jing from the School of Mechanical Engineering, and “key technology of large power transformer intelligence and its application” led by Chen Weigen from the School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University respectively win the first prize of innovation achievement award; the School of Material Science and Engineering wins the one second prize (Long Mujun); the School of Electrical Engineering wins one second prize (Tang Ju has participated), the School of Physics wins one outstanding award (Hu Chenguo has participated); Jia Yunjian from the School of Communication Engineering and Mou Xiaojing from the School of School of OptoElectronic Engineering (application submitted by the enterprise) win the innovation award (for individuals). He Yun from the School  of Pharmaceutical Sciences wins the promotion award (for individuals).

The industry-university-research collaboration innovation and promotion awards are annual honorary awards issued to organizations and individuals with outstanding contributions to industry-university-research collaboration innovation and promotion of China. The awards won by Chongqing University demonstrate the contributions made by Chongqing  University to prospering of regional economy, and development of local economy by closely integrating industry, universities and research institutes and converting the scientific and technological achievements into industrial advantages, given the overall background of collaborative innovation.

 

The Meeting is supported by 24 related ministries and commissions and organizations, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and is attended by about 1,200 representatives including the scientists, entrepreneurs and financiers across China. The representatives of award-winning projects of CQU also attend the Meeting.
