The journalist of Chongqing Morning News asks Academician Yukio Tamura why he has chosen Chongqing University. Academician Yukio Tamura replies that he had signed 3-year contract in 2014 with Beijing Jiaotong University when he first came to China. After that, he signed a contract with the School of Civil Engineering of Chongqing University in October 2017 upon invitation of Dean Yang Qingshan. He has chosen Chongqing University for two major projects, namely, the structural wind engineering and environmental wind engineering. His original intention is to build a safe and sustainable society.
The journalist of Chongqing Times asks Academician Yukio Tamura whether he could gives an introduction to the Strong Wind Related Disaster Prevention Organization jointly established by Academician Yukio Tamura and the United Nations, whether this Organization has any strategy for prevention against strong wind disaster, and whether it has directly participated in any related disaster prevention projects in China. Academician Yukio Tamura says that the Strategic Bureau of Affairs of the United Nations previously had no organization with respect to wind load. However, the wind disaster would cause great loss. In respond to his proposal to establish an organization with respect to wind load, the Organization was established in 2009.
The journalist of Chongqing Evening News asks Academician Yukio Tamura what suggestions he would like to give on research of wind resistance in China, and what he plans to do at Chongqing University. Academician Yukio Tamura points out that the research of wind resistance in China is currently concentrating on wind resistance of high-rise buildings. At present, Academician Yukio Tamura plans to be devoted to research of structural wind engineering and environmental wind engineering of Chongqing University.

The journalist of Chongqing TV asks Academician Yukio Tamura about his scientific research findings, and why he has chosen Chongqing University to carry out scientific research and what supports he is expecting from the University. Professor Yukio Tamura says that his main research areas include wind engineering and research of wind resistance for high-rise buildings. In addition, he has participated in many research projects of design of super high-rise buildings. His original intention for coming to this University coincide with the two major research projects of the University, and he also hopes to make some contributions to the two projects.
The journalist of Xinhuanet asks Academician Yukio Tamura what attitude a researcher should take toward science. Academician Yukio Tamura responds that this is a good question and that a researcher should keep in mind persistent love for science, projects, earth, human beings and the environment, and should set a goal and try the best to realize the goal. He adds that the most fundamental thing is to work hard.
