CQU designated as pilot university under “One-hundred Schools in One-hundred Cities” Program of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China

On the morning of December 22, the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China, sponsored by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China, and organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University and the government of Xi’an, opened officially. More than 2,000 representatives from over 220 enterprises including Alibaba and Microsoft, and above 500 college and university representatives from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in mainland China , Hong Kong and Macau, attended the annual meeting.

At the opening ceremony, the letter of appointment issuing ceremony for specially appointed experts of the Academic Board of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China, and the inauguration ceremony of Chongqing University as one of the first 16 pilot universities under the “One-hundred Schools in One-hundred Cities” Program. The Program has been launched by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China according to the spirit of related documents released by the state government. Its purpose is to achieve “education upgrading, talent upgrading and industrial upgrading” by carrying out various characteristic and effective innovation and entrepreneurship activities with diversified forms and channels based on the characteristics and economic development level of a region. The ultimate goal is to encourage involvement of enterprises in innovation and entrepreneurship in colleges and universities, and perfect I&E talent cultivation modes guided by demands. The inclusion of Chongqing University as one of the first pilot universities indicates that the innovation and entrepreneurship efforts of Chongqing  University have come a long way.

The annual meeting also includes 10 sub-forums and seminar, such as the Academic Forum on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform” and the Sub-forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Xi’an. Professor Zhang Yi from the School  of Big Data and Software Engineering of Chongqing University delivered a speech in the Sub-forum on “Cloud Innovation” as an honored guest.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China (IEEAC) was founded in 2015 with Tsinghua University as the sponsor. Now it has grown into an organization that comprises 186 colleges and universities and 60 I&E enterprises and public institutions and social organizations. IEEAC’s mission is to gather strengths of colleges and universities and all sectors of the society to provide the society with more top-grade I&E education resources.
