Logistics delegation of South Africa’s National Defense Force visits CQU

On April 25, 2019, the South Africa delegation led by Vice Marshal Laide Waba, commander of National Defense Service Force of the Republic of South Africa, visited Chongqing University. Vice President Ming Ju of Chongqing University appeared at the meeting.

At the meeting, Ming Ju firstly extended his welcome to the delegation. After that, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange gave a view of the development history, talent nurturing, disciplinary construction and international exchange of Chongqing University. The School of International Education gave an introduction to the international education of Chongqing University. Ming Ju encouraged outstanding talents of South Africa to come and study in China.

Vice Marshal Laide Waba showed his gratitude for the warm reception of Chongqing University, and asked questions about the channels of application for short-term study program in China, financial aid policy related to scholarship and grants and curriculum provision of the Faculty of Architecture. He expressed his intention to send talents to Chongqing University for short-term further study and his hope that Chongqing University would customize specific programs based on their actual needs.

Senior Colonel Huang Dongping, deputy director of the General Office of Logistics Department of Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Senior Colonel Chen Huiguo, professor and deputy director of the Military Facility Department of Army Service University of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, were also among the delegation. Representatives of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of International Education, the Graduate School of Chongqing University and the Teaching Affairs Office have also attended the meeting.

 

 After the meeting, the delegation visited the demonstration classroom of research-oriented learning space. After that, the delegation visited the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and had an informal discussion with school officials and teachers. They then had a better understanding of study programs for international students majoring in architecture offered by Chongqing University.
