From May 6 to 10, 2019, the “PQC 2019 Summer School”, “the 4th Asia Forum on Post-Quantum Cryptography” and the “10th International Conference on Post-Quantum Cryptography”, organized by Chongqing University with assistance of the International Association for Cryptologic Research and Springer Press, are being held in Chongqing as the “academic celebration” activities to celebrate Chongqing University’s 90th Anniversary. More than 200 representatives from standardization authorities, well-known colleges and universities and reputable enterprises from major developed countries across the world have arrived in Chongqing to take part in these high-standard academic exchange events that will last for 1 week. Professor Xiang Hong from the School of Big Data and Software Engineering, director of CPS Key Lab of the Ministry of Education, presided at the opening ceremony of the events.

More than 30 honored guests including senior executives from reputable enterprises like Microsoft, Google and IBM, scholars from well-known colleges and universities in Asia, Europe, Oceania, and North America, and officials of American National Standards Institute in charge of standardization of post-quantum cryptography delivered keynote speeches on hot topics including latest R&D progress in quantum computer, standardization of post-quantum cryptography in the USA, various algorithm designs of post-quantum cryptography and their application, and block chain security.

The research scientific teams of the School of Big Data and Software Engineering of CQU have started the tracking study of key technologies of post-quantum cryptography in 2010 in response to the urgent need of cyberspace security development strategy of China, with substantial support of overseeing authorities. Furthermore, they have been performing a number of national scientific research tasks in post-quantum cryptography. At the same time, leading members of the team have been making efforts in building high-standard platforms for international cooperation and exchange. After many years of hardworking and by defeating various competitors, the scientific research team of Chongqing University, the most influential conference in the post-quantum cryptography area, the “International Conference on Post-Quantum Cryptography” is being held in China for the first time in history.
Specifically, the International Conference is organized by the Key Lab of Cyber-Physical Trusted Service Computation under the Ministry of Education, with substantial support of the School of Big Data and Software Engineering and the Faculty of Information. More than 20 student volunteers from the School of Big Data and Software Engineering, the School of Computer Engineering, the School of Arts and the School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering are providing professional and considerate services for attendants of the events, and are highly spoken of by the attendants.
