In order to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Chongqing University, promote “academic anniversary celebration”, stimulate the students’ enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship and cultivate new forces for “popular entrepreneurship and popular innovation”, the Final of Fifth “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students of CQU kicked off at No. 8 Teaching Building, Campus A, Chongqing University on June 26, 2019. Fifteen experts from the Teaching Affairs Office, Institute of Scientific Research and Development, Office of Alumni Work, the Science Park, Employment Center and the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University and 8 experts from PNP and Curvature Innovation Factory were invited to the Final as judges. Totally 97 projects and more than 400 students from various schools who had made through the preliminary and quarter-final were present to take their finals.
Since its official launch of the Fifth “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students of CQU in April, with joint efforts of a number of departments and schools and active involvement and support of teachers and students, 2,505 students had signed up for the Competition, which took the theme “let’s have the courage to pioneer and make contributions to construction of the new era”.
At the meeting of evaluation experts, Li Chengxiang, secretary of Youth League Committee of Chongqing University, extended his gratitude to the experts for the guide and support they had given to the Competition, and gave a view of the basic information on the Competition and instructions for the evaluation.
The 97 finalist projects were grouped into 6 groups, namely, the creativity group, start-up group, growing group, red youth group, dream building journey group and racing track group. The project team members presented and defended their projects from perspectives including the innovation, team information, commerciality and social benefit. Experts raised relevant questions and offered their valuable suggestions.
The Fifth “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students of CQU strictly followed the spirit of the Implementation Scheme for 90th Anniversary Celebration Work of Chongqing University, and is one of the series activities included in the “academic anniversary celebration” section. It aimed to encourage students to engage in innovation, entrepreneurship and creation and serve as a bridge between I&E projects and social investment. An inspiring atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship has been created and outstanding I&E projects have been selected as finalists of the Fifth “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students of CQU.
The Fifth “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students of CQU was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the State Intellectual Property Office, the State Council's Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, Central Committee of the Communist Young League and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and was organized by Zhejiang University and the People’s Government of Hangzhou City.
