On November 30, 2019, the final of the 4th Physics Innovation Competition for College Students of Chongqing was successfully held at Southwest University. The Competition was sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Education Committee, guided by Chongqing Physics Society and organized by Southwest University. More than 2,000 students from 18 universities have participated in the Competition. The Competition was divided into the graduate student group and the college student group according to the level of students. The entries were divided into scientific research papers and physical production works.
A total of 14 teams from the School of Physics of Chongqing University made it to the second round, of which 5 teams won the first prize, 2 teams won the second prize and 7 teams won the third prize. Professor Pu Xianjie of the School of Physics won the honorary title of excellent instructor. Secretary Han Zhong and Vice Dean Wu Xiaozhi of the School of Physics were invited to act as judges of the Competition.
The gratifying results obtained by CQU students at this Competition showed the outstanding achievements made by the School of Physics of Chongqing University in the innovative education and scientific research training of college students, and were recognitions of the hard work and dedication of the instructors. The School of Physics will organize teachers and students to participate in more academic competitions, broaden horizon of teachers and students, consolidate the nurturing of top innovative talents, and make further efforts to achieve more and better results.
