CQU identified as one of the second batch of scientific and technological achievement transformation and technical transfer bases in colleges and universities

The Ministry of Education has recently released the list of colleges and universities identified as the “second batch of scientific and technological achievement transformation and technical transfer bases in colleges and universities”. Chongqing University is the only university of Chongqing among the list.



The application work kicked off officially during the summer vacation. The Institute of Scientific Research and Development of Chongqing University worked with professional organizations including CQU Assets Operation Co., Ltd., CQU Industrial Technology Research Institute and CQU Intellectual Property Operation Co., Ltd. To prepare required materials and get ready for defense. They summarized and refined the successful experience of Chongqing University in scientific and technological achievement transformation and special cases from aspects like management system, institutional system, service support system, professional organizations and team construction. They also identified the development targets and construction tasks of the next stage and managed to complete the tasks included in the application organization.


The approval is full acknowledgement of CQU’s efforts in scientific and technological transformation. Chongqing University will build the scientific and technological achievement transformation and technical transfer base into a first-rate base with complete systems, full policy implementation, distinct characteristics, outstanding performance and obvious demonstration effect. In addition, this base will be used as an effective means to further serve the implementation of major strategies and development of major industries of the country and the region as part of the economic construction of the new era. Chongqing University will fully participate in the construction of West China (Chongqing) Science City and boost the development of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

The scientific and technological achievement transformation and technical transfer bases in colleges and universities under the Ministry of Education (the “Bases”) are established to serve the major regional development strategy of the country and the economic-social development demand, and expedite transformation of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities. The prerequisites for a Base include: colleges, universities and regional governments with sound scientific and technological innovation foundation, strong demand for achievement transformation, distinct characteristics of achievement transformation work, and noticeable transformation collaboration effect and outstanding contribution to implementation of the national and regional major strategy and development of major industries. The application process was launched in 2018. Seventy-one colleges and universities including Tsinghua University and Peking University, and 5 regional governments including the People’s Government of Fengtai District, Beijing, got the approval.
