Thirty courses of Chongqing University rated as national first-rate undergraduate courses

Recently, the Ministry of Education released the final list of the first batch of national first-rate undergraduate courses. According to the list, 5,118 courses are rated as the first batch of national first-rate undergraduate courses. Thirty courses of Chongqing University are among the list.

Of the 5,118 national first-rate undergraduate courses, there are newly included courses of 2019, and some national online open excellent courses of 2017 and 2018 and national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects with significant contributions to the large-scale online teaching during the outbreak of COVID-19. This is the first time that the five types of national “gold courses” have been included in one list since the “abandoning low-quality courses and creating gold courses” initiative was proposed by the Ministry of Education at the Undergraduate Education Work Meeting for Colleges and Universities in China of the New Era in 2018, and the “Double-10,000 First-rate Undergraduate Course Construction Program” was launched.

Of the 30 first-rate undergraduate courses of Chongqing University among the list, 9 are online first-rate courses, 6 are online and offline first rate courses, 9 are offline first-rate courses, 5 are first-rate courses of virtual simulation experiment teaching and 1 is a first-rate course of social practice.

Chongqing University has long attached great importance to the construction of curriculum connotation, adhered to the deep integration of information technology and education teaching, promoted the learning-centered classroom teaching reform, and strengthened the main position of curriculum education with curriculum ideology and politics. In the future, Chongqing University will continue to carry out the construction of first-rate courses, encourage teachers to innovate teaching models, stimulate students' initiative and innovation in learning, continuously improve the quality of talent training, expedite the construction of education and teaching management policies and mechanisms that respond to the needs of personnel training in the new era, integrate with new technologies, and accord with the reform of education and teaching methods. In addition, the University will lay emphasis on the construction of first-rate undergraduate courses and promotion of excellent application cases, and will drive the development of “quality reform” both in scope and in depth through “learning reform”.
