CQU achieves gratifying results in the "Final of the 10th National Machinery Innovation Design Competition for College Students"

The Final of "Weishi Cup" the 10th National Machinery Innovation Design Competition for College Students is being held at Shenzhen Technology University from August 21 to 24, 2022. Two CQU teams competed in the Final and both claimed the first prize.


According to the preliminary recommendation of the competition areas of the 10th National Machinery Innovation Design Competition for College Students and the review results of the first stage of the National Final, a total of 200 products were selected for the second stage review of the Final. Two products of Chongqing University, including the "Green Willow-Integrated desert tree planting machine" and the "Green Pioneer-Integrated sand willow planting vehicle", reached the Final.

Participants from Chongqing University, after overcoming various difficulties, making PPT presentations and displaying videos, were highly recognized by all judges and won the national first prize.


Online defending

The product "Green Willow-Integrated desert tree planting machine" designed by Xie Yu, Cai Songlan, Yang Weiji, Luo Tianyou, Abudusamijiang Abudukaha'er and other students as directed by teachers Chen Yonghong and Ren Hong, is an integrated full-automation tree planting machine used to plant salix mongolica, a common plant used for desert afforestation. This product includes a multi-functional hollow drill bit independently designed by the team to solve the problems including sand backfilling and difficult excavation caused by sand mobility. The integrated drill bit design with features including drilling, seedling planting, soil cultivation and irrigation makes the whole device more compact and efficient. The combination design of grooved wheel and variant cam mechanism enables one motor to control the whole intermittent seedling feeding movement. The "spring clip" type seedling feeding mechanism is adopted to facilitate disassembly and replacement and greatly improve the planting efficiency. The design of the intelligent control system is adopted for the "mother and child machine", in which the mother machine is used as the energy supply station and the monitoring and management station. One mother machine controls and manages 10 child machines, and the Internet of Things technology is adopted to control its working route and working status. This product effectively solves the problems including poor artificial planting conditions, low survival rate of seedlings and low planting efficiency in the desert, and has considerable practicability and extensive use.


Green Willow-Integrated desert tree planting machine


The product "Green Pioneer-Integrated sand willow planting vehicle" designed by Jiang Cong, Tang Qing, Zhang Xinyi, Tang Shaobing, and Yang Zhiwen directed by the teacher Sun Yuanxi is a vehicle that is driven by only one motor. The motor works with the lead screw to complete the up and down movement required for soil drilling, and the gear rack and bevel gear drive the drill to move for drilling sand holes. The sliding block is fixed on the sliding table, which provides driving force during the movement of the double sliding blocks for feeding seedlings, so that the seedling trough tilts and the seedlings can fall from the seedling box into the sand hole. On the other side of the sliding table, there is a gear that works with a single bearing, and the offset wheel and the scissors mechanism drive the earth covering block to move together, so as to realize the earth covering. The product features one motor driving, reliable movement and high planting efficiency, with considerable practicability and extensive uses.

Moreover, another 4 teams of Chongqing University won the national second prize in the preliminary review; and 1 team won the national third prize.
