The 61st Higher Education Expo China (HEEC) was held at Fuzhou Strait International Conference & Exhibition Center on April 15-17. A delegation led by Liu Yanbing, Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Education Working Committee and Director General of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, and Jiang Yunfang, Deputy Director General of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, paid a visit at the booth of CQU. The visiting municipal leaders engaged in cordial exchanges with the participating faculty members of CQU, and shared their views on the development of higher education.
This year's enriching HEEC allowed visitors to explore a variety of modern education-oriented high-end equipment in six exhibition spaces. Besides, nearly one hundred forums were arranged around such topics as the promotion of teaching and learning reforms, professional development training for faculty members, translation of scientific and technological achievements, integrated development of industry and education, and education empowered by technologies, which were graced by a number of academicians, experts, and university senior managers. CQU's undergraduate education action plan 2029 and CQU's new engineering education program reform measures were showcased at the HEEC as part of CQU's achievements.
CQU designed four modules for this year's HEEC. In particular, CQU showcased its undergraduate education action plan 2029, which aims to optimize the academic structure of CQU, deepen the integration of science and education, innovate a diversified talent cultivation mechanism, and promote the sustainable development of its students. In terms of CQU's efforts to explore the reform of its new engineering education program, CQU highlighted the Co-op model adopted by the CQU-UC Joint Co-op Institute, the Mingyue Lake-CQU New Engineering Education Innovation Platform, the Mingyue Innovation Experimental Program, the Student X Innovation Center, and the National Elite Institute of Engineering.
A documentary on student activities of the CQU Student X Innovation Center was featured at the CQU booth to demonstrate CQU's great attention to the development of undergraduates' basic and practical abilities. It drew keen interest from participants, and a host of other university colleagues and industry players visited the CQU booth to interact with the crew and express their desire for cooperation. It is reported that this year, the CQU Student X Innovation Center will kick off the second phase of the laboratory construction, so as to develop itself into an integrated service platform for self-dependent innovation of university students, which comprises innovation practice management, manufacturing and processing services, cutting-edge multi-disciplinary research, and engineering practice training.
