On the afternoon of May 30, 2018, the inauguration and signing ceremony of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base for International Students” is held by Chongqing University and the International Maker Part at the conference hall of Yu Ao Group in the International Maker Park. Responsible persons of related departments of the government of Shapingba District, officials of the School of International Education of Chongqing University and representatives of International Maker Park Management Co., Ltd. and enterprises in the Park present at the inauguration and signing ceremony. Jiang Yan, vice dean of the School of International Education of Chongqing University presides at the ceremony. Nearly 100 international student representatives of Chongqing University and more than 20 enterprises and institutions from the International Maker Park also attend the ceremony and witness contract signing and inauguration of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base for International Students.

A cooperation agreement signing ceremony is held between the School of International Education of CQU and the International Maker Park. According to the cooperation agreement signed between the two, Chongqing University will recommend outstanding international students to the International Maker Park under innovation and entrepreneurship practice and social practice programs of related specialties. In return, the International Maker Park will provide internship posts for international students of Chongqing University, and guide the students throughout the process, so as to promote the professional level and application capacity of international students.

Li Jing, vice dean of the School of International Education of CQU in charge of daily work, point out in her speech that the Practice Base is not only established to promote the “Study in Chongqing University” brand, but is also established to provide outstanding talents of various countries for the Maker Park and make it culturally diversified, so as to boost cooperation between the government of Shapingba District and Chongqing University. An enterprise representative of the International Maker Park, says in his speech that it is a great honor to cooperate with Chongqing University and they would fully utilize their advantages and build a platform for implementation of the collaborative project.

International students of Chongqing University have performed the Tujia waving dance named “Jubilance for Sunshine” and sung a song named “Hello, Chongqing” while playing guitar, as a way to celebrate inauguration of the Practice Base. The representatives of more than 20 enterprises and institutions have exchanged ideas with international students in a heated atmosphere. A number of international students have reached an initial cooperation intention with the enterprises.

Upon completion of the ceremony, international students visited the International Maker Park. They were impressed by the export products of enterprises in the Park and took photos with those products.

In May 2017, Chongqing University and Bishan High-tech Zone collaborated to build the Innovation Practice Base for International Students in the “China-Italy Innovation Industrial Park”. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base for International Students (International Maker Park Base) is the second innovation and entrepreneurship practice base for international students established by Chongqing University. The Practice Base will not only help the improvement of cultivation quality of international students at Chongqing University, but may also serve as a platform for enterprises in the International Maker Park to explore the international market. This will be a true win-win situation.
