CQU granted three national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects

In March 2019, the Ministry of Education published the list of national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects of 2018. The Virtual Simulation Experiment on Construction and Design Analysis of Engineering Construction Formwork, the Virtual Simulation Experiment on Structural Design and Analysis of Large Gear Case, and the Virtual Simulation Experiment on Integrated Reports on Disaster Events proposed by Chongqing University have all been approved by the Ministry of Education as the first national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects. A total of 766 projects have been recommended to the Ministry of Education after appraisal and selection on provincial and municipal levels, and finally 296 projects have been approved, with an approval rate of 38.64%. In particular, Chongqing has recommended 20 projects, and 5 of them have been approved. The 3 projects proposed by Chongqing  University have all been approved, accounting for 60% of the municipal total.

To get ready for the appraisal and selection of national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects, the Office of Lab and Equipment Management, Teaching Affairs Office and Information Office have offered indispensible assistance. Fifteen university-level construction projects were established in advance and a professional technical support team and network security linkage mechanism have been set up. More than 100 persons from over 50 organizations were invited to related meetings for the national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects of various levels and types. In September 2018, Chongqing Municipal Education Commission recommended 3 projects of Chongqing University to the Ministry of Education for appraisal and selection. In the review period from October 2018 to January 2019, 3 projects of Chongqing  University gained extensive acclamation.

Remarks: Selection of national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects has been launched by the Ministry of Education in an effort to promote integration of modern information technology into experiment teaching projects, expand the depth and width of experiment teaching content, increase time and space of experiment teaching and improve the quality and level of experiment teaching. In July 2017, the Ministry of Education released the 2017-2020 Plan for Construction of Demonstrative Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Projects. Originally 1,000 projects were planned to be approved. In June 2018, the Ministry of Education decided to deepen and expand construction of the demonstrative virtual simulation experiment teaching projects, and the construction of national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects was then launched. In August 2018, the selection and appraisal of national virtual simulation experiment teaching projects of 2018 were started by the Ministry of Education. Eventually 260 projects were approved.
