CQU delegation wins its first gold award in China Collegiate Programming Contest

On October 20, the China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) sponsored by Teaching Steering Committee of Computer Related Specialties in Colleges and Universities under the Ministry of Education was held at Xiamen University of Technology. Totally 238 student teams from Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Zhejiang University and other universities of China participated in the Contest. The ACM Programming Practice & Innovation Team of Chongqing University has sent two student teams to the Contest. After fierce competition of 5 hours, the CQU delegation won 1 gold award and 1 copper award. This was the first gold award won by a CQU delegation in this Contest and was another honor added to the 90th Anniversary of Chongqing University.

The team that won the gold award (team name "Isn't It a Piece of Cake") was composed of Zhang Boheng and Xu Maokai, students of 2017 of the School of Computer Science, and Wang Xiaoyu, a student of 2018 from the same school. They tried their utmost in the competition, managed to overcome the psychological and physical obstacles, and finally won the gold award as the seventh place. After they won the first prize in the CCPC National Invitation Contest last semester, they now won the honor in the official competition of CCPC again.

China Collegiate Programming Competition is one of the most influential and challenging disciplinary contests for college students in China. This year's CCPC sessions have been sponsored by famous IT enterprises such as MEGVII, Tencent, Kuaishou, ByteDance, and etc. The ACM Programming Practice & Innovation Team of Chongqing University is a student team guided by the Teaching Affairs Office and the School of Computer Science of Chongqing University. It also serves as a training practice base for students of various majors to improve their ability of computer programming technology and algorithm design. The team has set a good example for all members of the Practice & Innovation Team, and this will inspire CQU students to achieve more excellent results in the future CCPC and ACM-ICPC.
