Prof. Robert W. Palmatier visits the School of Economics and Business Administration and delivers a lecture

On the morning of November 21, 2019, Professor Robert W. Palmatier, Foster School of Business, Washington University, was invited to give an academic lecture in the Lecture Hall of the School of Economics and Business Administration, Campus B, Chongqing University. Professor Dan Bin, vice dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration, presided over the lecture, which was attended by teachers and students from many key universities such as the School of Economics and Business Administration, City University of Hong Kong, Peking University and Nankai University.



Palmatier shared his latest academic research with the audience. Palmatier discussed how different sales structures affect the performance of enterprises and customers based on a summary of literatures and natural experiments. His wonderful lecture was heatedly responded by the audience. During the lecture, teachers and students interacted with Palmatier from time to time. After the lecture, students and teachers actively consulted or communicate with Palmatier about topics of interest.


On the morning of November 22, Palmatier held a lecture on the theme "Increasing Research Success at Top Journals in Changing Times ". This lecture was presided over by Professor Huang He, vice dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration. Professor Huang He once again thanked Palmatier for visit and briefly introduced the agenda of the lecture. Palmatier, beginning with the research environment of marketing reform, told how to improve our research connotation in this context, select interesting topics, use different methods to mine and analyze data, keep reading, improve theoretical level and obtain knowledge of previous research areas.


Robert W. Palmatier’s simple yet profound and humorous explanation won roars of applause of the audience. The interactive atmosphere of the lecture was active, and Robert W. Palmatier had a heated discussion with the teachers and students on several issues. Teachers and students all said they had benefited a lot and got a lot of inspiration and feelings.


After the lecture, the research team led by Professor Huang He, Professor Xu Hongyan, Professor Shao Bingjia, Professor Zhao Quanwu, Professor Qian Liping and Associate Professor Li Xiaoling reported their research progress. After that, Prof. Palmatier spoke highly of their research progress and offered suggestions for research promotion.


After the lecture, Palmatier took photos with Huang He, some teachers of the School and other visiting teachers.

Professor Robert W. Palmatier, chief professor and professor in marketing of Business Administration John C.
