Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of construction sites of national and provincial first-rate undergraduate program for 2019, and identified the first batch of 4,054 national first-rate undergraduate program construction sites. Totally 2,153 national first-rate undergraduate programs of colleges and universities directly under the central government submitted applications, and 1,691 were eventually selected, including 27 undergraduate programs of Chongqing University. Chongqing University achieved outstanding results in the first round of first-rate undergraduate program application.

The 27 undergraduate programs were included as the first-rate national undergraduate program construction sites, which is the result of the long-time coordinated efforts of Chongqing University in program construction and continuous improvement of talent training quality. In recent years, CQU has been taking moral education as its fundamental task, with construction of first-rate undergraduate course as the core of its "Double First-rate" construction, so as to enhance consensus and promote implementation. The 2029 Action Plan for Undergraduate Education of Chongqing University has been developed to build a first-rate undergraduate education system with CQU styles and Chinese characteristics. CQU will concentrate efforts on the pilot comprehensive reform of "all-in, entire-process and all-round talent cultivation" and construction of the "ten talent cultivation" systems that are comprehensively coordinated, in an ultimate effort to strengthen the "fundamental" position of undergraduate education, and create an encouraging atmosphere where everyone focuses on undergraduate education.

In order to achieve gratifying results in the application of the first-rate undergraduate program construction points in 2019, the University attached great importance to the overall deployment. In addition to in-depth research on the program construction of various schools, CQU also organized the application guidance meeting, guided the programs one by one, held the application material review meeting, reviewed all materials, held the construction promotion meeting, solicit expert opinions, and made continuous efforts to promote the construction work.

The University will take the first-rate undergraduate program construction as an opportunity to further deepen the reform of education and teaching, comprehensively optimize the layout of program structure, promote the connotative construction of the programs, improve the level of professional education, enhance the ability of professional talent training, and lay a solid foundation for the "Double First-rate" construction of the University.
