The 2020 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application (ICHVE 2020) was being held in Beijing from September 6 to 10, 2020. ICHVE 2020 was moved on line due to COVID-19. At the event, IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Gryzbowski Lifetime Achievement Award and Young-Professional Achievement Award were issued. In particular, Jiang Xingliang from Chongqing University was given the IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Gryzbowski Lifetime Achievement Award by Academician Masoud Farzaneh, chairman of the Award Committee, in recognition of his outstanding contributions in areas like establishment of scientific observation and research bases, electrical insulation in extreme environment, formation mechanism of ice cover, disaster causing mechanism and disaster prevention methods throughout the 35 years he has been engaged in scientific research.

IEEE Caixin Sun & Stan Grzybowski Awards have been established by IEEE in memory of the great contributions in high voltage technique made by Academician Caixin Sun of Chongqing University and Professor Stanislaw Grzybowski of Mississippi State University. The biennial Awards are issued to scholars with outstanding contributions to high voltage technique and its development. One winner of Lifetime Achievement Award and one winner of Young-Professional Achievement Award will be respectively selected from candidates globally. The Awards are supported by Caixin Sun Education Foundation of Chongqing University. IEEE DEIS is responsible for nominating and appraising candidates globally.
