On August 23, 2021 Smart China Expo opened in Chongqing International Expo Center. The theme of this Smart Expo is still "intelligence: empowering the economy and bringing diversities to life", and it was held both on line and off line, with most attendants participating in the event on line. Totally 37 scientific and technological innovation achievements (please click to watch the exhibition) of Chongqing University were exhibited at the Online Exhibition Hall of Intelligent Technologies. These achievements were the result of the high-level and multi-disciplinary advantages of Chongqing University and its concentrated efforts on intelligent development. The exhibited achievements included not only high-precision and cutting-edge technologies that have won the national scientific and technological progress award, but also application-oriented achievements that are about to be disseminated and go on the market, covering areas like major infrastructure, smart health, smart life, smart construction and intelligent manufacturing.

Integrated wind-solar-electricity assembled steel structure house
Different from the traditional reinforced concrete building, this house is built in an assembled way like the way we build blocks. There will be no noise, dust and sewage pollution in the construction process. The house is decorated with wind-solar-electricity integration technology, and the indoor fresh air system is based on high-efficiency heat recovery technology, which can not only reduce the indoor cold and heat loss, but also improve the indoor air quality and living comfort level. For the indoor power system, photovoltaic and wind power is used to complement each other. Meanwhile, the battery energy storage system and dual power automatic switching device are used, which does not only save energy, but also ensures power safety.
Integrated wind-solar-electricity assembled steel structure house
In the Exhibition Hall of Chongqing University, this intelligent building called integrated wind-solar-electricity low-energy cold-formed thin-walled steel structure house made a real sensation. The house is reconstructed by using a full-scale model that has experienced 8 degree rare two-way shaking table test. It is made of thin-walled pure steel plate with a thickness of only 1.2 to 1.8mm (a technology that can bend the steel plate freely at room temperature). It is very light, but has considerable seismic performance. This cold-formed thin-walled steel structure house is suitable for the construction of houses, schools, hospitals and green towns. It meets the major needs of national urbanization construction and has broad application prospects.
A small-sized special robot: Autonomous deformation and obstacle crossing
There will be a large number of inaccessible areas with unknown site conditions in the narrow spaces, nuclear radiation environment and dangerous and complex field operation environment when buildings collapse after the disaster. There is an urgent need for high-mobility small mobile robots that can smoothly enter such sites, so that people can obtain relevant information from the site remotely, and improve the detection efficiency and support capacity for disaster response.
The small special robot
The small special robot exhibited by Chongqing University is a deformable wheeled legged mobile robot for unstructured and complex environments expected to be used for anti-terrorism and explosion-proof purposes, post disaster search and rescue, intelligent security and risk monitoring. The robot can independently change the motion mode and deform autonomously when encountering obstacles in the process of motion. This greatly improves the mobility and autonomy of the robot.
An intelligent electronic nose: Automatically identifying traditional Chinese medicine
Smart medical treatment has been the highlight of Chongqing University at the Smart China Expo for three straight years. Many Chinese herbal medicines encountered in our daily life have special aromatic smell. Effective identification of the authenticity, advantages and disadvantages of Chinese herbal medicines according to their smell is an important evaluation method of Chinese herbal medicines. However, professional identification of Chinese herbal medicine is limited by the professional technical level of pharmacists and the process is time-consuming, labor-consuming, and vulnerable to errors, with very low repeatability.
Machine-based intelligent olfactory perception and analysis-intelligent electronic nose for traditional Chinese medicine
The “machine-based intelligent olfactory perception and analysis-intelligent electronic nose for traditional Chinese medicine” exhibited by Chongqing University can be used to realize automatic identification of traditional Chinese medicine by classifying the smell emitted by traditional Chinese medicine. The electronic nose is able to construct an odor map of traditional Chinese medicine and build a traditional Chinese medicine information database, and provide algorithm call interface to realize the safe detection of traditional Chinese medicine. It has the advantages including high accuracy, desirable repeatability, high sensitivity, short response time, fast detection speed and wide detection range.
More importantly, the "ultra transient experimental device" built under the guide of Chongqing University made its debut in the Smart China Expo. It is the first large-sized scientific device in Chongqing and the first large-sized scientific device in the world with two mutually coupled probes. In order to enhance the influence of Chongqing Science and Technology Innovation Center at home and abroad, it will seek for cooperation and joint construction opportunities within and without the country, work with excellent scientific and technological forces, jointly discover major scientific problems, and break through key technical bottlenecks.

Presently, Chongqing University is actively promoting the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation with national demand, regional development and industrial progress in accordance with the "four-orientation" requirements of China, and concentrating efforts on building and consolidating the bridge between scientific and technological innovation and industrial development. In addition, it is actively participating in the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle in an effort to build Chongqing into a national scientific and technological innovation center with noticeable influence.
