The list of Top 10 Young Scientific and Technological Workers of Chongqing of 2021 was released the other day. Three young scientific and technological workers of Chongqing University, Chen Zengshun, Hu Xiaosong and Ge Zhaolong, are among the ten winners of this honor.
The Top 10 Young Scientific and Technological Workers of Chongqing is a municipal award established in 2015 with approval of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and the municipal government. It is given to young scientific and technological workers in recognition of their outstanding achievements in economic development, social advancement and scientific and technological innovation. The honor is granted to no more than 10 winners every year. In recent years, Chongqing University has been making active efforts to recommend candidates. Totally 17 young scientific and technological workers of Chongqing University have won this honor by now. In 2021, three young teachers of Chongqing University were given this award due to their outstanding performance in related areas.
Professor Chen Zengshun has been engaged in the application research of structural wind engineering, structural/bridge health monitoring and artificial intelligence in structural/bridge engineering for a long time. He has published more than 80 papers in reputable journals and conferences in the related areas, including more than 50 SCI-indexed papers, and has been granted 30 national invention patents.
The main research areas of Professor Hu Xiaosong include the basic theory and application research of power system control and optimization of new energy vehicles. He has published more than 180 high-standard academic papers, and his research project has been included as major fronts projects of Research Fronts 2019 released by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, ranking the second place in the world in terms of influential power of achievements.
The main research areas of Professor Ge Zhaolong include the theory and technology of high-pressure water jet and the development of unconventional natural gas. He was the first in the world to establish the theory of jet-crushing deep coal rock. Ge has developed the hydraulic network transformation technology and equipment of low-permeability unconventional natural gas reservoir. He has published more than 90 papers, and has been granted 28 invention patents, 5 software copyrights, and established 2 national and industrial standards. His achievements have been included as a national major achievement transformation project by the Ministry of Finance, which has provided new approaches to solving the problems such as difficult permeability enhancement and low development efficiency of deep gas reservoirs.
