The Machine Learning and Risk Assessment in Geoengineering 2021 (MLRA 2021) was being held in Faroslaw, Poland from October 24 to 26, 2021. Doctoral candidates Liu Songlin and Wu Chongzhi (supervisor: Professor Zhang Wengang) claimed the 1st place of achievement award in the Contest held in conjunction with MRLA 2021.
MLRA2021 is an international conference jointly held by TC309 (Machine Learning and Big Data) and International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering TC304 (Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment and Management) as a platform for researchers and employees of the geotechnical information technology and risk assessment industry to communicate and discuss the application of big data and machine learning in natural disaster assessment.
The award-winning project of Chongqing University is “time series analysis and LSTM-LighGBM model for groundwater forecasting”, a way of machine learning modeling based on on-site sensor and weather data to predict the environmental data under the natural conditions in the 90 days to come (underground water level, pore pressure and lake water level), and compare the monitored environmental data in the construction process, so as to study the impact of construction on natural environment.
