The list of award winners in the 2022 WUPENiCity International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design and International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports sponsored by WUPEN (World Urban Planning Education Network), which consisted of excellent planning institutions in the world, was announced on August 31, 2022. The team made up of students and teachers from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning achieved gratifying results in the two Competitions.
In the WUPENiCity International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design, the team claimed 1 first award, 5 second awards, 5 third awards and 4 award nominations; in the International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports, the team claimed 1 first award, 2 second awards, 1 third award and 1 award nomination.
The project "Walls, stairs, lanes & mother city ishare---the urban micro-renewal of Dongshuimen region of Chongqing driven by digital IP of urban cultural resources" designed by Shi Jiahao and Zhao Sheng under the instruction of Yang Liu from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning won the first award in the International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design.
The 5 projects of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning that won the second award in the International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design include: The "Multi-element clustering, slow shared life" designed by Zhang Wenxin and Li Yingkun; the "Shared meta-warehouse linking plan -the renewal design of Baixiangju shared meta-home based on the inter-embedding of virtuality and reality" designed by Yang Manqi and Wang Zhenhuan; the "Meta · Global market supported on a piece of cloth---Keqiao full-time sharing textile market update of digital darning" designed by Li Yuhan and Liu Binglin; the "Hyperlink space time theater-renewal design of Ciqikou historical and cultural block under the concept of living museum" designed by Wu Linying and Zhang Xinyue; and the "Daily life under meta chain-meta age · urban renewal for continuous streams of daily life" designed by Gou Xinyu and Feng Yunjie. Teachers from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, including Tan Wenyong, He Baojie, Yang Liu and Zhao Ke, participated in the instructions.
The projects of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning that won the third award in the International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design include: the "From ones to oneness" designed by Yang Bolan and Liu Wenjing under the instruction of Zhao Ke and Li Xu; the "Network of veins · multitrade forms a city" designed by Li Mingxi and Xu Haiying under the instruction of Wang Min; the "Shared network · urban and rural interconnection" designed by He Yuanyan and Wang Qian under the instruction of Zhao Ke; and the "Tracking and retrieving-urban design of Ciqikou shared cultural tourism community under the concept of meta universe" designed by Liu Jiaojiao and Xiang Huayi under the instruction of Wang Min.
Further, the following projects of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning also won the third award in the International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design, including the "Transformation of the old city · virtual & realistic twinning community" designed by Wang Rui and Jiang Chuan; the "Live together all the time-renewal planning and design of fringe communities in the central area of Chongqing" designed by Shao Zhijin and Xie Zhuoming; the "Welcome to city-urban design based on digital, networked and intelligent shared brain-neuron smart perception" designed by Zhang Shuning and Zhang Qian; and the "Kaleidoscope of community" design by Li Ruijiao and Luo Jia. Instructors are Ying Wen, Gu Yuanyuan and Wang Qi.
The project "Lofty ambition promotes development of hometown- investigation on local employment status of Zhongyi Township in the post-poverty alleviation period" designed by Xu Xiaoyu, Luo Qiaoxin, Qiu Bolun and Chen Zirui under the instruction of Xu Miao and Sun Zhongwei from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning won the first award in the International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports.
The projects "'Explore' the memory of Hongyan and 'continue' the revolutionary genes---a survey of Hongyan cultural tourism experience based on the place theory" designed by Lai Wenxuan, Liu Yupeng, Wang Chenyi and Fu Qi and "'Fuse' stainless steel and 'gather' floating population-investigation on the employment dilemma of floating population in workers' village of special steel factory from the perspective of inclusion" designed by Wang Yichen, Lin Zhenhao, Wang Siyi and Yang Haohan won the second award in the International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports. The projects "Make a quick decision on 'plastic restriction' fight-investigation on reasons for difficulty of plastic restriction in express delivery industry under the background of 'plastic restriction order'" created by Huang Jiayue and Gu Dawei and "Spread of past glory in merchants' courtyard and renewal of scenes in Yuzhou street" created by Zheng Hongtian, Feng Yuqing, Xia Huanqi and Wang Yutong won the second award and third award respectively in the International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports.
In the International Competition on Student Course Works of Urban Design, 9 first awards, 36 second awards, 48 third awards and 132 award nominations were selected. In the International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports, 8 first wards, 28 second awards, 43 third awards and 111 award nominations were selected.
