On November 12, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, the 8th China-Japan Conference on Education Exchange & Cooperation was held online. Liu Hanlong, Managing Vice President of Chongqing University, attended this forum by invitation and made a keynote speech on the topic "China-Japan Higher Education Exchange and Cooperation in the Post-epidemic Era".
Taking Chongqing University as an example, Liu Hanlong shared with the participants some new ways, new paths and new means adopted by Chongqing University for international exchanges and training in the post-epidemic era. Liu highlighted the "Global Academic Postgraduate Courses" launched in 2021. This program aims to maintain the scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges between teachers and overseas partners. All courses covered are approved by each instruction school and target students are the postgraduates studying in Chongqing University. Notably, the courses are offered online by teachers from overseas high-level universities or academic institutions together with teachers from Chongqing University. In addition to the efforts made in teaching, Chongqing University has recently launched a "G-seminar" funding program for international scientific research cooperation that teachers are concerned about. It is mainly aimed at senior doctoral candidates, young teachers, and experts and scholars in and out of school and held in the mode of "lectures+academic reports+symposiums" with scholars giving lectures as the main form.

Guests such Kong Xuanyou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Japan, Liu Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange, Jia Peng, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education of China, Ayako Maezawa, Culture Counselor of the Japanese Embassy in People's Republic of China, Tokudome Takeshi, Assistant Counselor of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan etc. attended this conference and delivered speeches. In addition, more than 200 leaders and representative teachers from over 70 universities in China and Japan participated in this forum.
