On February 18, 2023, the 2022 Annual Conference on Disciplinary Development and Management Highlight Exhibition of Chongqing University Cancer Hospital was held at Sunac International Conference Center.

Li Pan, a member of the CPC Committee of Chongqing Health Commission and Deputy Director of the Commission, Deng Shaojiang, Vice President of Chongqing University, Wu Lianghe, a member of the Party Group of Chongqing Municipal Medical Security Bureau and Deputy Director of the Bureau, Xu Zhipeng, a member of the CPC Committee of Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau and Deputy Director of the Bureau, Huang Kexin, Deputy Head of the People's Government of Shapingba District, Wu Jingming, Full-time Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of Chongqing Municipal Committee of CPPCC, Liu Guoxiang, Director of the Faulty of Medicine of Chongqing University and Dean of the School of Medicine, Wang Ling, Deputy Secretary and Political Commissar of Chongqing Health Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps, Zhou Kangxiang, Director of the Planning and Development Office of Chongqing Health Commission, Jiang Ling, Director of the Healthcare Office of Chongqing Health Commission, Wang Shichun, Director of the Comprehensive TCM Department of Chongqing Health Commission, Duan Meifu, Director of the Fund Supervision Office of Chongqing Municipal Medical Security Bureau, Xu Yongzhu, Director of Chongqing Blood Center, Zhang Zhaiying, Deputy Head of the People's Government of Quxian County, Sichuan Province, Xia Lin, Secretary of CPC Committee and Director of Shapingba District Health Commission, Tao Hui, Secretary and Chairman of the Party Group of the Women's Federation of Shapingba District, Wu Yongzhong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Chongqing University Cancer Hospital and Xu Bo, Director of Chongqing University Cancer Hospital appeared at the event. Another more than 1,000 officials and experts from 142 organizations in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hubei, Jiangxi and Chongqing, as well as more than 100 officials and middle-level cadres of Chongqing University Cancer Hospital, were also present. Zhang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of CQU Cancer Hospital, presided at the Meeting.

Wu Yongzhong delivered a welcome speech. In his speech, Wu extended warm welcome to the officials and honored guests present at the event and expressed sincere gratitude to the officials at different levels and the sister hospitals for their continuous support and help. According to Wu, the year of 2022 was a critical year of the construction of the National Cancer Center of Chongqing University Cancer Hospital. Chongqing University Cancer Hospital has been always focusing on the two topics, namely, "scientific research innovation" and "governance effectiveness", sticking to high-quality party construction to lead high-quality development, and making active efforts to get involved in the integrated health development of Sichuan and Chongqing, and practice the Healthy China Initiative in a comprehensive, systematic and meticulous manner. It has always regarded the medical service as its core task, made unremitting efforts to strengthen the discipline-based hospital governance based on scientific research innovation, enhance the internal governance of the Hospital to improve the management effectiveness, expedite infrastructure construction, build development hardcore and drive the business development of the Hospital to a higher level.

Wu went on to add that in 2023, the Hospital would focus on the two topics, "construction of the teaching system" and "regional center building", make constant efforts to promote the integration of party affairs and business, get deeply involved in the construction of the medicine discipline as part of the "Double-First-Rate" construction of Chongqing University, speed up the construction of the Hospital Zone in the Science City, and deepen the construction of the Cancer Prevention Community. Wu stressed the commitment of Chongqing University to writing a new chapter of the high-quality development of cancer hospitals in the new era. Furthermore, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital will do its damnedest to understand the strategic positioning of new Chongqing proposed by the Central Committee of the CPC, strengthen its cooperation with the sister hospitals, enrich the connotation of the Cancer Prevention Community, improve the overall level of cancer prevention in the region and make further contribution to the health of the people and CPC.

In the Disciplinary Development Exhibition part, representatives of 11 surgery departments, 7 internal medicine departments and 6 medical laboratory departments gave an report on their departments in terms of disciplinary characteristics, talent team, advantageous technology, scientific research and teaching, department management and public welfare characteristics to systematically exhibit the progress and achievements made in disciplinary development. In the Management Highlight Exhibition part, representatives of 20 administrative function departments shared their successful experience and approaches extracted from the management practice of the Hospital from 3 perspectives, namely, project background, process measure and effect evaluation, in 6 segments, such as culture building, quality management, disciplinary management, operation management, smart hospital and logistics management.

Xu Bo delivered a summary speech. In his speech, Xu said that the development of the Hospital in 2022 focused on "scientific research innovation" and "governance effectiveness". The exhibition of the 24 disciplines and the 20 management highlights were all about these two topics. This fully reflected the importance of discipline-based hospital governance and management empowerment. In 2022, the Hospital made great effort to lay a solid foundation, implement effective management, serve development and accumulate strength. By implementing the disciplinary construction promotion plan, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital focused on building advantageous disciplines, improved the overall disciplinary level of the Hospital and brought the disciplinary construction and scientific research management to a higher level. Meanwhile, it continued to carry out management capacity enhancing plans, organized management trainings, English proficiency trainings, scientific and research trainings from time to time to create an encouraging learning atmosphere in the Hospital. It made ultimate effort to build a team of management cadres featuring "great competence, high quality, broad horizon, effective management and strong competitiveness", so as to better serve the modern management and high-quality development of the Hospital. In 2023, the Hospital will make further effort to promote the integration of party affairs and business of the Hospital, get deeply involved in the construction of the medicine discipline as part of the "Double-First-Rate" construction of Chongqing University, speed up the construction of the Hospital Zone in the Science City, and deepen the construction of the Cancer Prevention Community.
