On May 11, 2023 (Beijing Time), the latest data of ESI indicated that the pharmacology and toxicology of Chongqing University were listed in the top 1% of ESI world ranking for the first time. Up to now, Chongqing University has gotten 13 disciplines entering the top 1% of ESI ranking, including engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, environmental science/ecology, computer science, geoscience, biology and biochemistry, clinical medicine, mathematics, plant and animal science, general social sciences, pharmacology and toxicology. The following figure explains the specific indicators of each discipline.
ESI has ranked institutions around the world according to the total citation frequency of papers collected in recent 10-11 years. This statistical data show that the number of institutions in the top 1% of ESI world ranking is 8,409, and Chongqing University ranks the 344th, up 33 places from the previous period. Among the 13 shortlisted disciplines, engineering, materials science and chemistry still keep the place in the top 1‰ of world ranking.
