On July 22, the opening ceremony of the 10th China Visualization and Visual Analysis Conference was held in Shapingba District, Chongqing. Many renowned experts and scholars from the field of visualization at home and abroad gather in Chongqing for frontier communication, introduction of development trends and expansion of research ideas.
It is reported that this conference is sponsored by China Society of Image and Graphic and undertaken by the Specialized Committee on Visualization and Visual Analysis, Chongqing University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Chongqing University of Education. Besides, it will last until July 24, covering activities such as thesis presentations, exhibitions and symposiums.
Among the more than 100 contributions received, 36 papers were accepted in the first round, including 28 English technical papers, 7 Chinese technical papers and 1 English review. Then, these papers were recommended to Journal of Visualization, Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Computer Graphics, Visual Informatics, etc. In addition, the visualization competition consisting of three tracks "Multidimensional Data Visualization Analysis Challenge of Urban Intersection", "Humanistic Visualization Creation" and "Art Visualization" attracted more than 1,500 participants and over 400 teams submitted more than 230 works. With regard to art projects, the conference also set up activities such as art exhibitions, art courses, special reports and artists' lectures.
According to reports, China Visualization and Visual Analysis Conference (ChinaVis) is jointly initiated by staff from the visualization industry in China. It aims to promote the exchange of visualization and visual analysis research and application in China and neighboring regions, explore the development direction and opportunities of visualization and visual analysis in the era of big data, facilitate the development and progress of related research and application, boost the development of disciplines, strengthen the personnel training and exchange, and deepen the integration of art and technology. Especially, this conference will set up a platform for face-to-face communication with famous experts, entrepreneurs and application departments at home and abroad, and discuss in depth the frontier technologies of visualization and their applications, so as to promote the formation of a new ecology for collaborative development of industry, university, research and application in the field of visualization and visual analysis in China.
