On the afternoon of August 30, 2023, after in-depth consultation in early stage, the signing ceremony for Chongqing University and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation was held in Shapingba Campus of Chongqing University. Wu Hui, Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., heads of Huawei Global Public Utilities System Department, Smart Car Solution BU, China Government and Enterprise Business Department and Chongqing Government and Enterprise Business Department as well as President Wang Shuxin, Vice President Li Jian and heads of relevant departments and schools of Chongqing University were present. Rao Jinsong, Assistant to President of Chongqing University, presided over this signing ceremony.
Chongqing University and Huawei have been closely connected and maintained a good cooperative relation for a long time. The two sides have carried out in-depth and fruitful cooperation in promoting "Developer Program" and "Smart Base" for collaborative education by integration of industry and education, deepening cooperation in scientific research projects, holding discipline and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, setting up scholarships for teaching (learning), convening special recruitment for students, and implementing campus informationization. Under the guidance of the national strategy for innovation-driven development and the digital China construction plan, the two sides have reached increasingly close cooperation of vast space and great potential. Therefore, the two sides have developed a comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of existing cooperation and signed a strategic cooperation agreement to guide and deepen the follow-up cooperation.

Wu Hui said in his speech that Chongqing University and Huawei have always maintained long-term and comprehensive cooperation. In the future, the wave of intelligence will accelerate the upgrading of the education industry from digitalization to intelligence, which also anchors a new course for the cooperation between the two sides. Huawei has actively practiced the relevant capabilities of independent innovation, created open and compatible root technologies in connectivity, computing, operating systems and databases, achieved technological breakthroughs, and found an independent and competitive innovation route. At present, Chongqing University is fully executing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, benchmarking the implementation of the strategic deployment of education, science & technology and talents, and promoting the high-quality construction of "Unprecedented Chongqing University in a Century ", ensuring that all undertakings maintain a rapid and upward development momentum. He said that Chongqing University has deep roots with Huawei and the both sides have maintained a good and close cooperative relation for a long time. This comprehensive cooperation in scientific and technological innovation cooperation, joint training of talents, and establishment of benchmark smart campus is a powerful practice of school-enterprise cooperation to create a joint innovation body. It is a new exploration of integration of industry and education, merge of science and education, and promotion of education digitalization. It is expected to form more high-quality cooperative achievements. He stressed that the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation process is speeding up, and new technologies with artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and Internet of Things as the core are developing rapidly. At the signing event, the two sides not only entered an agreement on deepening strategic cooperation, but also concluded two sub-agreements on cooperation in building benchmark smart campus and joint training of excellent engineers. In terms of building benchmark smart campus, in order to thoroughly implement the strategic plan of "speeding up the construction of digital China" at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Chongqing University has conscientiously executed the national strategic action of digital education, and actively promoted the implementation of digital Chongqing construction in schools. It is accelerating the transformation of digital education, setting up leading group and office for digital education, and launching the "Action Plan for Smart Chongqing University". The construction of smart Chongqing University will closely focus on the fundamental task of moral education and the goal of "Double-First-Rate".
