On September 15, 2023 (Beijing Time), the latest data of ESI indicated that the agricultural science of Chongqing University was listed in the top 1% of ESI world ranking for the first time. Up to now, Chongqing University has gotten 15 disciplines listed top 1% of ESI ranking, including engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, environmental science/ecology, computer science, geoscience, biology and biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics, clinical medicine, mathematics, plant and animal science, general social sciences, pharmacology and toxicology and agricultural science. See Tab.1 for the specific indicators of each discipline.
ESI ranks global institutions according to the total cited frequency of papers. According to the statistics, there are 8,786 institutions entering the top 1% of EIS world ranking and Chongqing University ranks the 339th, up 9 places from the previous period. Among the 15 listed disciplines, engineering, materials science and chemistry continued to be listed in top 1‰ of ESI world ranking.
The cross of biology, chemistry, environment, ecology and agricultural science, and the category of ESI disciplines are mainly classified according to the discipline attributes of the research direction of periodicals, which are the direct reasons for the academic output and citation of agricultural science of Chongqing University. According to the analysis on the contribution of papers published for agricultural science by the secondary institutions of Chongqing University from 2013 to 2022, the School of Bioengineering, the School of Life Science and the School of Environment and Ecology rank in the top three. The School of Bioengineering, the School of Life Science and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are the top three institutions of Chongqing University for the contribution of citation frequency of agricultural science papers in ESI. These schools may have played a greater role in Chongqing University's agricultural science entering 1% of the ESI world ranking. (Library Information Service Department)
