CQU Establishes Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs

On April 27, 2024, the Thematic Activity of "Embracing the Future in Chongqing and Making New Progress" and the Inaugural Conference of CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs took place at CQU Campus A.



At the Inaugural Conference of CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs, Mr. He Dezhong, Deputy Secretary General of CQU Alumni Association Secretariat and CQU Education Development Foundation Secretariat, read out the Approval for the Inauguration of CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs, Mr. Liao Yuanliang, CQU Education Development Foundation Secretariat awarded the official plaque to the CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs, and Mr. Fu Yong, the newly elected co-president, delivered a speech. Xu Jun, Secretary General of CQU Alumni Association Secretariat and CQU Education Development Foundation Secretariat, sent his message to the alumni. It is his hope that the alumni, "with commitment to their own profession, the Association and the local community," would work hard together to make innovations, give back to the alumni, the alma mater and the society, and play their parts as members of the Association to the endeavor of making a "new centennial CQU."



CQU Vice President Yang Jun indicated that CQU alumni will always be the most valuable asset of the alma mater and the most trustworthy partner for the development of the alma mater's endeavors. Thanks to the four-party efforts of CQU and CQU Alumni Association, government departments, alumni and their enterprises, and CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs, the alumni resource platform has been put in place and the think tank of the alma mater has been scaled up gradually to form a reciprocal advantage. The aim is to contribute to the development of the "CQU Leader" brand of top-quality business education, to the success of the alma mater and the growth of the alumni's careers, to the development of new productive forces, and to the fulfillment of the Chinese dream.



Wu Tao, Deputy Director General of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, made a brief introduction to the development of private economy and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Chongqing in recent years. It is his hope that by vigorously promoting entrepreneurship, the newly founded CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs would accelerate the collaborative and intelligent development of SMEs, with a focus on facilitating intensive matchmaking for the coordinated development of industries-academia-research institutes-users, upstream and downstream sectors, and large and medium-sized enterprises. He also called for accelerating the integration into the dynamic efforts for the innovative development of Chongqing's manufacturing sector, giving full play to the role of enterprises as the major players in innovation, and promoting science, technology and innovation as well as industrial innovations. These will guide and foster the high-quality development of Chongqing's private sector.



Zeng Weiming, Deputy Director General of the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated that CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs aims to render services to the leading entrepreneurs and enterprises and cater to the needs of leading entrepreneurs' enterprises. He also called for active integration of various superior resources of leading systems across the country. By making full use of IT, digital and intelligent solutions and combining online and offline approaches, it would be possible to help enterprises enhance their competitiveness in science, technology and innovation and core competitiveness. In doing so, the Association would lead these enterprises to pursue development like SRDI enterprises.



Subsequently, the newly founded CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs hosted the Academician and Expert Thematic Presentation. CQU Professor Pan Fusheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, delivered a keynote speech entitled Modern Industries Require Accelerated Development of Technological Processing Platforms (Pilot Platforms). Taken into account the status quo of scientific and technological achievements translation, he briefed on the basic functions required for an integrated platform for processing technological achievements and offered insights on how to expedite the development of an integrated platform for processing technological achievements.



As a part of the event, the Roundtable was held around how can private enterprises develop new quality productive forces. Moderated by Ping Songrui, Deputy Director of Equipment Industry Department of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Roundtable featured CQU Prof. Wang Xu, Prof. Yuan Jie, former Deputy Director General of Chongqing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and Director General of Chongqing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, He Xiangneng, Deputy Director of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development and Promotion Department of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Liang Wei, Vice President of Chongqing Association of Senior Scientists and Technologists and Director of Enterprises Innovation Committee, and Zhou Dan, General Manager of Chongqing Zonsen Aero Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd. They respectively delivered speeches titled Smart Logistics is the Economic Driving Force in the Era of New Quality Productive Forces, How to Capitalize on the Data Exchange Mechanisms and Resources of the Five Major Patent Data Players (China, USA, Japan, ROK, and Europe) for New Manufacturing, New Services, and New Industries Amidst New Circumstances, Government Policies and Measures to Incentivize Enterprises to Develop New Quality Productive Forces in High Quality, The Significance of New Quality Productive Forces for Private Enterprise Development, and The Development of Low-altitude Economy Embraces New Opportunities and Urgently Demands Greater Innovations. Revolving around the trending of how to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces and promote high-quality development, the Roundtable panelists offered insights into the development of new quality productive forces from 3W perspectives (What, Why, and How), in order to assist enterprises in locating the optimal solutions.



Reportedly, CQU Alumni Association for Leading Entrepreneurs is composed of trainees of CQU-Chongqing Leading Entrepreneurs Course, an initiative coordinated and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's for training leading entrepreneurial talents in SMEs' operation and management. Since its launch in 2012, the training course program has produced over 20,000 leading entrepreneurs across the country through more than 390 training sessions. As a training provider, CQU has held 12 sessions with a total of 665 trainees since the beginning of 2017.

Guided by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and CQU and hosted by CQU Alumni Association and CQU College of Continuing Education, the event brought together more than 450 participants from MIIT Talent Exchange Center, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, CQU and other organizations, as well as trainees from MIIT CQU Leading Entrepreneurs Program.
