On May 19, China-France University Presidents' Forum kicked off at Tongji University, where some 80 presidents and representatives from 25 universities and educational institutions in China and France, as well as Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine (Architecture and Heritage City), had insightful discussions on the theme of "Sustainable Development and International Engineering Education." Mr. Lu Yiyu, Vice President of CQU, graced the event with his presence, accompanied by his colleagues from the CQU Office of International Affairs.

During the event, attendees engaged in a lively discussion on the theme of "Sustainable Development and International Engineering Education," shared their best practices and thoughts on such issues as international partnerships for promoting the cultivation of outstanding engineers and high-quality higher education for promoting sustainability, and reached consensus on specific issues such as strengthening partnerships between Chinese and French universities in engineering talent training and science, technology and innovation.

In his speech, Lu Yiyu introduced CQU's exploratory efforts and best practices in fostering outstanding engineers with global vision. He pointed out that thanks to its position as an important strategic pivot for China's Western Development Initiative, CQU has witnessed early successes in its efforts to build a training platform for the profound integration of industry, academia and research institutes, and to explore the "CQU Experience" of running new engineering education programs.

As this year coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, CQU's presence at this event will play a positive role in further deepening CQU's exchanges and cooperation with France, consolidating and expanding partnerships, and increasing CQU's global visibility.
