2019 Autumn (Large-scale) Campus Career Fair held by Chongqing University

On November 3, 2018, the 2019 Autumn (Large-scale) Campus Career Fair was held by Chongqing University at Siqun Square, Campus A. The participating organizations in this Campus Career Fair are from various industries, including the manufacturing industry, aerospace industry, finance industry, building industry and education industry. More than 400 enterprises and public institutions represented by leading enterprises such as CRRC Corporation Limited and Civil Aviation Administration of China. More than 10,000 graduates from more than 60 colleges and universities in and outside Chongqing came to the event to seek for jobs.

On the current day, Zhou Xun, secretary of CPC CQU Committee appeared on the site. At the booth of Sichuan Chengfei Integration Technology Co., Ltd., Zhou Xun talked amicably with the representatives of the organization and the applying students. Zhou extended his gratitude to the recruiting organizations for attending the Career Fair, and asked in details for the talent demand of the organization. The workers of the recruiting organizations spoke very highly of the graduates from Chongqing University and expressed their hope that more Chongqing University graduates would join them. After that, Zhou Xun and his companions visited the volunteer service station, dining area, medical first-aid station, and occupational guidance area and talked with the workers and volunteer students.

Wang Xu, deputy secretary of CPC CQU Committee, arrived at the site of the Career Fair before it opened to check if everything was ready. When interviewed by Chongqing TV Station, Wang Xu expressed his hope that the graduates would do their part in construction of Chongqing, and he encouraged the graduates to have a long-term vision, and take both the individual aspiration and the demands of the time for construction and development of China into consideration when choosing their occupations. This way, they will be able to make some achievements in major areas of China.

In order to ensure the Career Fair comes out as a success, Chongqing University begun the preparation work 1 month in advance. With coordination and guide of the University’s officials in charge, various departments of Chongqing University cooperated with each other to provide precise services for students and employers. The employment big data were used for the first in the Career Fair for analysis, and multi-dimension assessment was carried out. Four hundred participating organizations were selected from the more than 900 applying organizations, so as to increase the matching degree between the employers and students. It is the first time that the recruiting organizations have been classified based on the industrial segments, and the exhibition arrangement and publicizing activities were carried out separately. This way, the effectiveness of release of recruitment information was improved and the Career Fair went on in an orderly way. Security measures such as security door were used for the first time to safeguard the Career Fair.

 

An occupational guidance area was set up at the Career Fair, and the occupational guiding teachers of Chongqing University, and senior HR specialists from Longfor Real Estate and Chang’an Ford were invited to the Career Fair to provide one-to-one consultancy service and guidance for students with respect to the resume, written examination, interview guide, contract signing and employment policy. More than 200 students from more than 20 colleges and universities, including foreign students of Chongqing University, received the counseling services.

The Career Fair was a fully prepared, orderly organized and sufficiently safeguarded one, and it has come out to be a great success. The students and employers spoke very highly of the services and logistics support provided by Chongqing University. Field investigation statistics indicate that the satisfaction rate of guidance and services provided by Chongqing University among the applying students reached 95% and that among employers reached 98%. A total of 13 news media including Chongqing Branch of Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily Online, CQNews and Chongqing Daily were present to cover the event. More than 100 media websites and news clients such as International Online of China Central Television, China News, CQCB, and Headlines Today reposted reports on this event.
