CQU’s Prof. Hu Xiaosong awarded “Chongqing Youth May Fourth Medal”

As China's Youth Day is around the corner, the Organizational Department of CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League handed out the 2020 “Chongqing Youth May Fourth Medal” to 10 outstanding models among youths. Professor Hu Xiaosong from the School of Automotive Engineering, Chongqing University is among the award receivers.


Hu Xiaosong, male, of Han nationality, born in March 1983, a nonparty personage, a master degree holder, and professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Automotive Engineering, Chongqing University (State Key Lab of Mechanical Transmission and Chongqing Automotive Collaborative Innovation Center). Hu has been engaged in basic research of fundamental theory and application of power system control and optimization of new-energy automobiles for a long time and is an outstanding young scholar in the global new energy automobile area. He has directed or participated in more than 10 national scientific research projects and published 2 monographs and more than 120 academic papers and translated 2 monographs. He has published more than 10 papers with factor of influence above 10 (including 2 published in PECS, a CELL sub-journal), with more than 8,300 citations. The H index is 50. He has 35 highly cited ESI papers and has applied for (has been granted) more than 30 invention patents. Now, Hu is acting as the associate editor or editorial board member of more than 10 authoritative journals upon invitation and serving as the member of a number of academic organizations. He is also the appraisal experts of a number of key awards, talent programs and scientific research projects.

In 2015, Hu Xiaosong was hailed as a Marie Curie scholar by EU, and won the best paper award for the energy system issued by American Society of Mechanical Engineers; in 2016, he was given the award for emerging leaders in sustainable energy area of the world; in 2017, Hu was included in the “One-hundred Talents Program” of Chongqing as a specially appointed expert and won the excellent natural science paper award issued by Chongqing Association for Science and Technology; in 2019, Hu was given the award for highly cited scientists of the world by Clarivate, the innovation award for enterprise-university-research cooperation of China, the SAE Ralph Teetor education achievement award of Society of Automobile Engineers and the Energies outstanding youth achievement award of Swiss. He has also been given the Outstanding Youth Fund of Chongqing.
