2020 CCF Chinasoft held at CQU

2020 CCF Chinasoft was held from November 20 to 22, 2020 at Chongqing University. This event is sponsored by China Computer Federation and co-organized by Chongqing University, CCF Technical Committee on Software Engineering, CCF Technical Committee on System Software, and CCF Technical Committee on Formal Method.


Mei Hong, honorary chairman of 2020 CCF Chinasoft, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, chairman of China Computer Federation and vice president of the Academy of Military Sciences, Shu Lichun, secretary of CPC CQU Committee, Wang Ji, co-chairman of 2020 CCF Chinasoft, director of CCF Technical Committee on Formal Method from National University of Defense Technology, and Zhao Gang, a member of the Party Group and chief engineer of Chongqing Economic and Information Commission, delivered a speech respectively at the event. Researcher Lin Huimin from the Institute of Software of Chinese Academy of Sciences, an academician of CAS, Wang Huaimin, an academician of CAS from the National University of Defense Technology, and Shi Yuanchun from Tsinghua University, a managing director of CCF, were also present at the event. Wang Shilong, vice president of Chongqing University and dean (part-time) of the School of Big Data and Software Engineering, presided at the opening ceremony.

This event has drawn extensive attention of the industry, with a total of more than 4,200 online and offline attendants. Particularly, more than 1,500 offline attendants from colleges and universities, scientific research institutions, enterprise and public institution personally showed up at the event. Another more than 2,700 online attendants participated in the event through live streaming platforms like Tencent Conference and Bilibili. A total of 195 papers and entries have been received and reviewed by 183 review experts following a given procedure, and 85 of them were presented at the event.


Mei Hong extended his congratulations on the opening of 2020 CCF Chinasoft on behalf of China Computer Federation. He pointed out in his speech that 2020 CCF Chinasoft was held in combination with NASAC and FMAC. As the CCF Technical Committee on Software Engineering, CCF Technical Committee on System Software, and CCF Technical Committee on Formal Method covered most of the areas under the software discipline, this combination enhanced influence of the event, and catered for the demands of the era of digitalization. It also contributed considerably to improvement of software development efficiency and software quality. In addition, Mei expressed his expectations for CCF Chinasoft in the future and his hope that the event would serve as a platform where people in the software field are able to get together and exchange ideas in this era when “software defines everything”, so as to make further contributions to the software discipline and software industry.


Shu Lichun also congratulated on opening of the grand event and extended his gratitude towards the officials, experts and honored guests who had been caring for and supporting development of CQU. Shu gave a brief introduction to the school-running characteristics and talent introduction policy of CQU, and the disciplinary characteristics, current development situation and future opportunities of the School of Big Data and Software Engineering. He pointed out that the 2020 CCF Chinasoft featured high standard and high level, and was an opportunity for Chongqing University to exchange ideas with and learn from experts and scholars of the software field. It also promoted development of related disciplines of CQU. Shu stressed that Chongqing University was at present concentrating its efforts on construction of a national demonstrative software school with characteristics. He expressed his hope that this event would enhance more extensive cooperation and exchange between CQU and first-rate colleges, universities, scientific research institutions and expert teams at home and abroad. At last, Shu invited the scholars present at the event to come and work at CQU.


Wang Ji delivered a speech on behalf of the CCF Technical Committee on Software Engineering, CCF Technical Committee on System Software, and CCF Technical Committee on Formal Method. He pointed out that software has become the carrier of human civilization in the era of information. Human civilization runs on software, and promotes the informatization of human society into a new stage of intelligence. The era of integration of human, machine and material is on its way. Computing is everywhere, and software defines everything. Now people are paying more attention to software than ever and the dominant position of software development has been strengthened. He stressed that in this new era, software development was facing both new opportunities and challenges, and people have greater expectations for software. He expressed his hope that CCF Technical Committee on Software Engineering, CCF Technical Committee on System Software, and CCF Technical Committee on Formal Method would work together to promote software innovation in China.


In his speech, Zhao Gang pointed out that under the important instructions of President Xi Jinping for Chongqing, including the “two-point” positioning, and “two-place” and “two-high” goals, the “three roles” and its involvement in construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, represented by software technology evolution and product innovation, was ready to kick off. The "software defines the world" is gaining ground and is bringing new opportunities and challenges to scientific and technological innovation and economic and social development. Chongqing is currently promoting the intelligent development strategy of big data, speeding up the pace of digital industrialization and industrial digitization, and has established the basic advantages, market advantages, talent advantages and environmental advantages conducive to the accelerated development of software industry. Zhao further pointed out that CCF Chinasoft served as a valuable exchange platform, and expressed his hope that experts and scholars could give advice and suggestions for the development of Chongqing’s software industry.


Wen Junhao, co-chairman of 2020 CCF Chinasoft and secretary of CPC Committee of the School of Big Data and Software Engineering of CQU, gave an introduction to the arrangement and organization of the event. This event was a combination of the 19th National Software Application Conference and the 5th National Conference on Formal Method and Application, and lasted for 3 days. It included 33 sessions of 4 categories, including the academic seminar on software discipline, the seminar on education of software discipline, industrial forum on software engineering and system software and competition forum. Seven academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and representatives of the academic and industrial circles were invited to the event. Call for papers has been released in Journal of Software, Chinese Journal of Computers and Journal of Computer Research and Development.


After the opening ceremony, Professor Xie Tao from Peking University and Mr. Wang Qianxiang from Huawei chaired the invited speech session and shared their ideas. Wang Huaimin delivered an invited speech titled “Distributed Computing 2.0: Network-based Connected Computing”. According to his speech, the development of distributed computing can be roughly divided into the first step with computer as the center, the second step with network as the center, and the third step with human as the center. Based on the second step of distributed computing, Wang discussed the basic issues of connected computing, and introduced the efficient interconnection and convergence of large-scale networked software resources, computing resources and intellectual resources. At the end of the speech, Wang shared some of his thoughts on the future development.


Tan Zongwei, vice president of the Product Department of Huawei Cloud, delivered a speech titled “Construction and Exploration of R&D Platform of Trusted Software”. According to his speech, in the digital society, network information security brings great challenges to society, enterprises and individuals. How to provide digital products while ensuring the credibility and security of software development process has become a huge challenge of current software development. Tan discussed the way to design, code, build, test, release and deploy trusted software from an end-to-end perspective, and the way to deliver trusted software to customers in an orderly and reliable manner under unified collaborative management. Furthermore, he also gave a view of Huawei's efforts in theoretical research, technical system construction and R & D platform and phased achievements it had made.


According to the attendant representatives, in response to the national strategic demands of China, 2020 CCF Chinasoft gathered many outstanding representatives from the academic and industrial circles in the field of software engineering, promoted rich and diverse academic and industrial exchanges, and contributed to the national software innovation and development of the industry.
