Recently, the All-China Women's Federation released the list of National Women Pace-setters (collectives) of 2021. According to the list, 10 persons including Burumahan Maoleduo were dubbed as the "National Woman Pace-setter Examples", 300 persons including Wang Xiaoyun were dubbed as "National Woman Pace-setters", and 200 organizations including the Office of Coordination and Supervision of Beijing Citizen Hotline Service Center were granted the titled of "National Woman Pace-setting Organizations". Totally 9 persons and 6 organizations from Chongqing were among the list. In particular, Professor Zhu Xun from the School of Energy and Power Engineering was granted the title of "National Woman Pace-setter".
Dr. Zhu Xun, a second-level professor and a doctoral tutor, is mainly engaged in research in areas including fuel cell technology, micro-scale multiphase flow and heat and mass transfer, energy conservation and emission reduction and renewable energy conversion. Zhu Xun has acted as the director of more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial projects including projects supported by Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the National Science Foundation, projects under the National Key R&D Program, and key international cooperation research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation. Zhu is now a member of the 8th Board of Directors of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, a member of the Heat Pipe Professional Group of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, associator editor of Carbon Neutrality, a member of the Editorial Board of Chinese Science Bulletin, and a member of the Board of Directors of International Society of Electrochemistry. Zhu is a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation of the National "10,000-talent Program", head of the innovation team of key areas under the Innovation Talent Promotion Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, an expert entitled to special allowance of the State Council, a talent under the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education, an academic technology leader of Chongqing, a specially appointed professor under the Bayu Scholar Program, one of the "Most Beautiful Teachers" of Chongqing, an outstanding CPC member of the education system of Chongqing, a woman pace-setter in scientific and technological innovation of Chongqing and director of "Bayu Woman I&E Demonstration Base". Zhu has published nearly 300 SCI-indexed international periodical papers, which have been positively cited for more than 5,000 times. Zhu has won 5 prizes including the First Prize for Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize for Natural Science of Chongqing and the National Second Prize for Progress in Energy Science and Technology.
Since she graduated from CQU in 1993, Zhu has been working with industrial waste gas, waste water and waste residue for the University and had always enjoyed it. Her perseverance in scientific research has paid off well, and she has set an example for the young teachers and students around her. Zhu Xun's team is now dedicated to research of heat and mass transfer law, development of high-efficiency fuel cell reactor and porous medium electrode structure.
It is reported that the selection and commendation of "National Woman Pace-setter Examples" and "National Woman Pace-setter (Collective)" are held to select outstanding women and women groups that are self-respecting, confident, independent, and self-motivated, have unwavering political stand and noble character, and are devoted to work, pioneering and brave, and set an example that encourages and guide women in China to work hard to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and bring about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
