The 13th "Challenge Cup" CQU Qualification Trials & Finals of the 11th CQU I&E Competition held on the cloud

The CQU Qualification Trials of the 13th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Business Plan Competition & Finals of the 11th "Shusheng Qianfeng Cup" I&E Competition were held in No. 8 Teaching Building, Campus A, Chongqing University on April 7. In view of the repeated outbreaks of COVID-19, the Finals were held by way of "cloud organization", "cloud participation" and "cloud appraisal". Totally 30 cloud appraisers, including responsible disciplinary experts from colleges and universities, I&E education experts and responsible persons of investment organization and incubation organizations, were invited to the event. A total of 95 projects made to the Finals.



The "Challenge Cup" National College Students Business Plan Competition is co-hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, the Ministry of Education, the China Association for Science and Technology and All-China Studies' Federation. It was initiated in 1999 as a bi-annual event. It is a mass-oriented practice-centered entrepreneurship competition that plays a guiding and demonstrating role, and is dubbed as the "Olympics" for entrepreneurship of China's college students.

The theme of the 13th "Challenge Cup" lies in youth, future and challenges. The event is co-organized by the Undergraduate School of Chongqing University, the Institute of Scientific Research and Development, the Graduate School, the Chongqing University Science Park Office, the Students' Occupational Development and Employment Guiding Center and CQU Committee of the Communist Youth League. Since its launch in November 2021, a total of 95 projects from 26 schools made to the Finals after the preliminaries, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, and the 12-day I&E training camp, 7 sessions of I&E lectures, and 18 sessions of I&E publicizing events.



The finalist projects covered 5 areas including scientific and technological innovation and future industries, rural revitalization and agricultural modernization, urban governance and social services, ecological environmental protection and sustainable development, cultural creativity and regional cooperation. The "6+3" road show defense was adopted for the Finals, which included "an online road show of 6 minutes and defense of 3 minutes". Appraisers were asked to rate the projects from 5 aspects including social value, practice process, innovative implications, development prospects and teamwork, and select 10 gold award winners, 30 silver award winners, 30 bronze award winners and 25 excellence award winners.



Chongqing University has been attaching great importance to the "Challenge Cup" competitions and has been making efforts to build platforms, establish systems and create an encouraging atmosphere to promote joint education on and off the campus and integrated nurturing of undergraduate and postgraduate students with "Challenge Cup" competitions as the drive to empower education and innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhance the innovation spirit, entrepreneurship awareness and I&E ability of students. Specifically, in the 12th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Business Plan Competition of 2020, CQU students claimed 1 gold award, 4 silver awards, and 2 bronze awards, and ranked No. 16 nationwide with students from other colleges and universities. Besides, they set a new record of Chongqing and were given the "Excellence Cup". In the 11th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Business Plan Competition of 2018 (formerly known as "Innovation & Youth" China College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition), CQU students won 1 gold award, 3 silver awards, and 2 bronze awards and pocketed the first "Excellence Cup" of Chongqing and CQU.
