Recently, the Nano Materials Science (NMS) sponsored by Chongqing University and governed by the Ministry of Education, was officially included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). All the journal data from 2019, the year of publication, have been included and the first impact factor will be granted in 2023. This is another major breakthrough made by the journal after it was included in EI in December last year, which means that the academic authority and international influence of the journal have been further expanded and recognized.
NMS was officially founded and published in March 2019. Academician Lyu Jian, former Vice President of City University of Hong Kong, was the editor-in-chief, and the editorial board was composed of 126 well-known experts and scholars from 21 countries and regions. It is primarily concerned with the innovative research achievements in the preparation and processing of nano-structure materials and nano-functional materials, material gene characterization, material performance evaluation and application, and the design, preparation, processing and evaluation of nano-devices, etc., and has reported the research achievements of professor Konstantin Novoselov, the Nobel Laureate in Physics and 12 academicians. At present, its papers have been downloaded more than 580,000 times, and cited and reported by 793 SCIE journals in 102 countries and regions; The 2021CiteScore is 14.3, and its three disciplines rank among the top 5% of similar journals in the world; It has been included in core and important databases such as EI, CSCD, Scopus, CAS, DOAJ, INSPEC, etc. and selected as T2-level Comprehensive Category of Materials Science in China's High Quality Sci-tech Journal Classification Directory, China University Excellent Sci-tech Journal, Chongqing High Quality Sci-tech Journal, and Chongqing Publishing-funded Journal, etc.
Chongqing University attaches great importance to the construction and development of academic journals. Especially in recent years, with the deepening of the "Double-First-Rate" construction, it has strengthened the top-level promotion and planning guidance, followed the basic idea of discipline development, vigorously promoted the construction of high-level academic journals, issued policy documents and supporting measures, and implemented the funding plan for the cultivation of high-level academic journals. Adhering to the first-class standards, pursuing excellence, aiming at the frontier, interdisciplinary and emerging disciplines with great development potential in the future, it comprehensively improves the quality of current journals, vigorously cultivates new journals with high standards, strives to build a matrix of high-level academic journals and construct a high-level intensive support system for running journals.
At present, it has sponsored 9 academic journals (6 Chinese journals, 1 Chinese-English journal and 2 English journals). The academic organization ability of journals has been greatly improved, the cohesion of talents has been gradually strengthened, the leading power of innovation has been significantly enhanced, and the brand influence has been continuously expanded. In 2022, five new journals with high standards will be launched at one time. Now, among its journals, 1 has been included in SCIE, 1 in ESCI, 2 in EI, 4 in Scopus, 6 in CSCD, 1 in CSSCI, 5 in PKU and 6 in CSTPCD; Further, 1 has been selected as the first batch of the Leading Journal of China's Excellent Action Plan of Sci-tech Journals, 7 included in the World Journal Clout Index Report, 5 admitted into the Classification Directory of High Quality Sci-tech Journals of China Association for Science and Technology, 1 included in the Famous Column Project of the Ministry of Education, 2 selected as the First-class Sci-tech Journal in Sichuan and Chongqing, 7 selected as the Chongqing High Quality Sci-tech Journal, 8 selected as the Chongqing Famous Journal, and 9 selected as the Chongqing First-level Journal and Famous · Excellent Academic Journals of Universities in Chongqing. In 2022, Journal of Magnesium and Alloys obtains an impact factor of 11.813, reaching a record high and ranks first among similar journals in SCI in the world, and becomes one of the most influential academic journals of metallurgical materials in the world. The composite impact factor of Journal of Chongqing University (Social Science Edition) ranks 9th among 626 comprehensive humanities and social science journals in China, and its published papers have been selected as "Excellent Works on Journal Theme Publicity" sponsored by Publishing Bureau of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.
