Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment announces the Global Talent Recruitment Program and the Demonstration Projects

On September 24, 2022, the Announcement of the Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment • Global Talent Recruitment Program & Demonstration Projects was held in Liangjiang New Area, releasing a batch of demonstration projects and issuing offers to global talents in new energy storage field. Zhang Hongxing, a member of Chongqing Municipal Standing Committee of CPC and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area and Wang Shuxin, President of Chongqing University and an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the event and delivered speeches. Furthermore, Pan Fusheng, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chairman of Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Chairman of International Society for Energy Storage Materials and Director of Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment, Deng Shaojiang, Vice President of Chongqing University and Li Jie, a member of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area and Deputy Director of the Management Committee also attended the event. Wang Yu, a member of the Party Working Committee of Liangjiang New Area and Deputy Director of the Management Committee acted as the host.



Zhang Hongxing said that Liangjiang New Area was the pioneer area for the development of new energy storage industry in Chongqing. In recent years, it has seized the opportunity to make a rapid layout, studied and published the first systematic policy for energy storage in Chongqing, strengthened pragmatic cooperation with Chongqing University, built a new energy storage innovation platform, accelerated the introduction of energy storage projects, and formed a prototype of multi-format industrial ecology. Liangjiang New Area will take this announcement as an opportunity to focus on the goal of building a new energy storage industry with great influence in China and rely on the advantages of industrial foundation, innovative resources, application scenarios and open-door policies to speed up the improvement of R&D and innovation capabilities, accelerate the creation of new energy storage industry clusters, step up the demonstration of new energy storage applications and promote the high-quality development of new energy storage industry. Now, we hereby sincerely invite outstanding talents and energy storage enterprises from all over the world to invest in Liangjiang New Area and we will create a good environment for the development of new energy storage industry with better and more efficient and convenient services.



Wang Shuxin pointed out that college was an important carrier to implement the innovation-driven development strategy. All along, Chongqing University has been adhering to the running path of industry-university-research cooperation, taking the national demand as the guide and striving to serve the development of the times. It will fully support the construction and development of the institute and on the basis of comprehensively mastering the industry development law, it will speed up the breakthrough of key technologies in cooperation with Liangjiang New Area and relevant leading enterprises, strengthen the application demonstration of the achievements, actively explore a characteristic development path of deep integration of government- industry-university-research, and lead and promote the independent innovation capability and high-quality development of China's energy storage industry. Pan Fusheng said that energy was the "food" of industry, the lifeblood of developing the national economy, and an important material basis for improving people's living standards. We have the responsibility to work together to increase the development of new energy storage technologies and equipment. Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment adopts the mode of open cooperation, in which it unites all parties and upstream and downstream industries and strives to gather global experts to work in fields of magnesium battery, solid hydrogen storage, sodium battery, semi-solid and solid lithium battery, metal air battery and new physical energy storage. We believe that with the joint efforts of all parties, the development of energy storage technology and equipment in Chongqing will make an important contribution to the national energy security, the implementation of energy storage strategy and the realization of the "carbon neutrality and emission peak" goal.



At the announcement, Deng Shaojiang released the Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment • Global Talent Recruitment Program and sent invitations to global talents to jointly build a national innovation platform.



Wang Jingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chongqing University and Executive Director of Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment, released the demonstration projects of the institute, including the demonstration of solid hydrogen refueling station, solid hydrogen storage truck, integrated demonstration of industrial by-product hydrogen storage and purification, distributed energy storage demonstration, comprehensive demonstration of magnesium-based energy storage in Chongqing Guangyang Island and comprehensive demonstration of magnesium batteries in "magnesium energy town" in Qingyang County, Anhui Province.

In addition, guests below also delivered speeches via online video, including Guo Zhengxiao,  an academician of the Academy of Europe, Vice Dean of School of Science of Hong Kong University and Honorary Professor of University College London, Ma Zifeng, Chair Professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Vice Chairman of International Society for Energy Storage Materials, Li Xiehua, President of Chinalco Advanced Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Lu Yangfan, former JSPS researcher of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Ding Chao, a doctor of Illinois Institute of Technology, Wang Zhongting, a doctor of National University of Singapore and Cao Liuyue, a researcher of University of Sydney, Australia.

It is reported that in May this year, Chongqing University and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area jointly initiated the establishment of Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Material and Equipment. The institute covers an area of 50,000 m2, with a total investment of RMB 5-10 billion. Led by academician Pan Fusheng, it gives full play to the comprehensive advantages of related disciplines, platforms and talents of the school, unites leading enterprises in the industry, aims at the national energy strategy and cutting-edge technologies of energy transformation, gathers innovative resources and high-end talents and is committed to building a world-class collaborative innovation platform for new energy storage materials and equipment.
