CQU's professor Su Xiaojie is given the 2022 IEEE SMC Early Career Award

On October 11, 2022, the International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IEEE SMC 2022 held its 2022 IEEE SMC Awarding Ceremony. Professor Su Xiaojie from the School of Automation of Chongqing University is given the 2022 IEEE SMC Outstanding Early Career Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the fuzzy control theory and its industrial application. The winner of this Award is selected across the world. After recommendation of the Nominating Committee and review of the Award Committee, Su Xiaojie was selected as the only winner of this Award this year.



Su Xiaojie is mainly engaged in research of intelligent control theory and intelligent unmanned system application. He has published 3 English academic monographs, more than 100 academic papers, with over 5,000 SCI-indexed paper citations. Su was selected as one of the Highly Cited Researchers of Clarivate during 2017 and 2021. He founded IEEE Beijing Section, Systems, Man, and Cybernetics and Robotics and Automation Joint Societies Chapter as the Founding Chairman and served as its first Chairman. He is also the Steering Committee Member of a top international journal IEEE Transactions on Big Data. In addition, Su is serving as the Associate Editor of more than 10 top international journals including IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Systems Journal, and the Director of Chinese Association of Automation.

IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, IEEE SMC was officially founded in 1970 with the approval of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE. It is the IEEE society with the longest history and the biggest size. IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society focuses on artificial intelligence, automatic control theory and application of autonomous unmanned systems. It has set up the IEEE SMC Early Career Award that is given to young researchers with outstanding research findings in AI and its industrial application. Every year only one winner of this Award is selected across the world.
