Cooperative Projects

The Sino-Italian Research and Innovation Area Project

—signed on February 22nd in the Great Hall of People at the presence of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, and Italian President, Sergio Mattarella, between Chongqing University, Bishan District in the Municipality of Chongqing and Sant’Anna University of Advanced Studies of Pisa, is to establish an open innovation ecosystem in Chongqing, attracting Italian and Chinese talents towards local economic development and named “Sino-Italian Research and Innovation Area”.

CQU-Antwerp Joint International Logistics Institute

—the Master of Logistics programme jointly with the University of Antwerp of Belgium, established in 2011 when Chongqing signed a cooperation agreement with Antwerp Province with Prince Philip as the witness.

CQU-UC (University of Cincinnati, USA) Coop Institute

—accredited by MOE, in cooperation with University of Cincinnati, with a full English-instructed curriculum in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

National Centre for International Research of Low-carbon and Green Buildings

—accredited by MOE and MOST, the People’s Republic of China, led by Chongqing University, including 12 world-renowned educational and research institutions like University of Reading, Cambridge University, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

The Sino-Singapore International Joint Research Institute, Chongqing

—established by Liangjiang District, the Nanyang Technical University and Chongqing University, as part of the 3rd Sino-Singapore intergovernmental project, will serve the needs of the Belt and Road Initiative and a proposed economic belt along the Yangtze River.
